Imagined landscapes are meditations to conjure that hallucinatory state between waking and dreaming. Inspired by the aesthetics of the Hudson School and the luminescence of the Tonalists, Robert Trondsen works with loose brushstrokes and a minimal, often autumnal palette. The results are ethereal atmospheres with an understated yet hypnotic effect.
