TOM SWIMM relocated to California and transitioned to painting full time following a successful career as a commercial artist in New York. Capturing the elusive qualities of light and its interplay with color, Tom’s landscapes and marine paintings convey a remarkable realism combined with distinctly impressionistic properties. He has numerous exhibitions and awards to his credit, has been profiled on the cover of many local and national magazines, and was featured at the prestigious APPAF exhibit in Paris, France. He has released five instructional books on painting through Walter Foster Publishing and has illustrated three children’s books. In addition to his work in the visual arts, Tom is a published playwright and screen writer.
